Rename?[]

There's a wizard in the ends credits of the film who is name "Bushy haired muttering wizard" and is played by Daniel Hill. I think the article refered to this wizard so the page should be renamed. As this wiki don't have a pic for Daniel Hill, I give you the link with an image of him: Spotlight to compare with the movie. --   Famini    talk    contribs   10:06, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

Nationality?[]

This individual offers an opportunity to discuss what, if anything, can be inferred about an individual's Nationality / Regionality from their working at or for the British Ministry of Magic. First off, as the Ministry appears to administer both Great Britain and Ireland, the current British seems overly reductive - how exactly was it decided here that Ireland is not a possibility? However, do we know for a fact that the Ministry only employs people from Britain or Ireland? Can anyone think of a counter-example or can anyone provide evidence of this restriction? Just trying to sort out what is given in canon versus what may have been assumed. Cheers --Ironyak1 (talk) 04:44, September 15, 2020 (UTC)

You raise an interesing point. Personally, I just assumed that when we wrote British, that was in wizarding terms, since as far as I have gathered, wizarding Ireland isn't split up like the Muggle one is, hence why we never hear anything about an Irish Ministry for Magic. If it's used in the wizarding sense, it isn't reductive. Tfoc (talk) 11:21, September 15, 2020 (UTC)

I can understand how this could be viewed in "wizarding terms", but given the British Ministry of Magic appearing to be in charge of Britain and Ireland, the link would be more like British which starts to demonstrate the oddity of using the term this way. While Rowling's use of "British" appears to vary, there are several examples such as the Kelpie being defined as a "British and Irish water demon" in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and "“Level seven, Department of Magical Games and Sports, incorporating the British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters", given in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 7 (The Ministry of Magic), clearly separating out Ireland as not being covered by the term "British" in the wizarding world. As such, if we are to assume/infer that everyone who works at the British Ministry of Magic must reside in the related jurisdiction, then "British or Irish" seems necessarily implied.
However, I do question if that inference is one that should be made at all. Is there canon source given that the British Ministry of Magic only employs those from Britain or Ireland or is it possible individuals from other nationalities can work there in some capacity? Thoughts? --Ironyak1 (talk) 19:19, September 16, 2020 (UTC)
