Summons spell

Should we mention in BTS that the spell may not actually conjure the snake, but "summon" it. The spell name indicates this.Rodolphus 08:13, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Nice thought, but the evidence seems suggest otherwise, for example:
  • Serpensortia best translates to "create snake" - this implies conjuration, not summoning.
  • The spell is known to be a Transfiguration - summoning is a charm, conjuration is a trasfig.
  • We already have a summoning charm, Accio. Green Zubat 16:54, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Moniker

What is a moniker. I don't know it because i'm Danish. --Danniesen 22:11, 6 February, 2012 (Denmark)

It's just a way of referring to someone or something, generally informal. What someone or something is called by a group of people. As another example, highly obsessive Harry Potter fans are sometimes referred to by the moniker "Potterheads." ProfessorTofty 21:51, February 6, 2012 (UTC)

Skirmish at Malfoy Manor

When Bellatrix attacks Fenrir Greyback, it looks almost certainly like she conjured a snake and had it wrap around his neck-you can even see its mouth opened and hear it hissing throughout the next few seconds. Should we add this as an appearance? 68.32.132.28 20:59, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

Even the image in the article of Fenrir Greyback says that he was choked by Bellatrix's "conjured snake". Given the evidence suggesting that Lestrange did indeed conjure a serpent, and to be consistent with the aforementioned picture's description, I'm going to add her usage of it. 68.32.132.28 22:03, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

No; that spell is already mentioned in Whip Spell. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 23:03, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry if I seem anal, but that article doesn't mention any of its usages, including the one on Fenrir Greyback. It seems unlikely that this whip would become detached from her wand, open its mouth and emit a hissing sound. But, I'll leave it alone if you insist. 68.32.132.28 23:31, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

By no means am I trying to discourage your edits; I'm simply saying that providing your theory on the appropriate talk page would be a better idea. I'm going to leave it from there with those who have watched the film. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 00:00, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
