Didn't Slughorn say in the movie that this hourglass measures "the quality of conversation" or something to that effect? I can't remember exactly. Nick O'Demus 16:16, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'll check it when I see the film (Tuesday or Wednesday) -- Seth Cooper owl post! 16:19, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't remember exactly what he said too. 'waiting for a official subtitle from DVD release because even i watch again the film, it is still possible for me to miss it because it's hard for me to understand some words that the characters have spoken. --ÈnŔîčö (Send me an Owl!) 16:23, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- While measuring a conversation's quality is a clear benefit, the hourglass is still a timepiece. I always figured the idea was to prolong interesting conversations and get the boring ones over with. "So sorry to interrupt your 'fascinating' description of cauldron-bottom thinning, but as you can see, I've run out of time." That kind of thing. Billybobfred 22:33, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
