I've seen before that this spell can be used to frighten ghosts, but it was removed. We should re add it to some effect, as in the GBA version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, it can be used as an offensive spell towards ghosts and Peeves.

Cleaning Charm

I've browsed through the video games, and nowhere have I found this spell being referred to as the "Cleaning Charm". Any sources? The PS2 version of Chamber of Secrets refers to it as the Scouring Charm, which seems not to be the case. Thoughts? --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 02:49, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

I myself have only ever seen it called the Cleaning Charm here on the wiki - I also did a quick search on Google - nothing on the first five pages called it the Cleaning Charm, it's always either "Skurge charm" or "Scouring Charm". Hunnie Bunn (talk) 14:34, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

Actually, the chapter is called "Ectoplasm"... should we rename this "Ectoplasm Spell", or no? --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 00:00, December 29, 2012 (UTC)
Not necessarily, the chapter title does not outright say "Ectoplasm Spell"... --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:38, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

Cleaning Charm: Part II

So, Wombat mentions Cleaning Charms and the link brings us to Skurge... do we rename Skurge to Cleaning Charm again, or is Cleaning Charm another name for Scouring Charm? --Hunnie Bunn (Owl me!) 00:24, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

Bumping. --Hunnie Bunn (Owl me!) 20:51, February 5, 2013 (UTC)
Well, we linked it to Skurge, but Rowling did not provide any connection to Skurge in the WOMBAT, did she? Anyway, I'd tend to err on the side of caution and keep the article unaltered (and, perhaps, we should create a new article altogether for this "Cleaning Charm"). --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:39, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
