Official Name?

When did this spell get an official name? I think the previous article, Tom Riddle's Unidentified Spell, or whatever it was called, was more detailed than this one. AlastorMoody 02:32, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, it doesn't have an official name, we're just calling it "Shield penetration spell" because it a.) is a spell that penetrates shields and b.) seems neutral enough, though it does need a conjecture tab now that I think about it - Green Zubat 05:55, August 11, 2011 (UTC).

Colour

Voldemort owning Hogwarts

Voldemort owning the Hogwarts enchantments - bluish-white.

What is the official colour of this spell (in the films)? 'Cause I thought I remembered it being bluish-white, but like 2 people have said it was green now so I'm starting to think I might be wrong. Anyone remember exactly what it was? Green Zubat 05:55, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's bluish-white, at least according to the trailer. I've downloaded the film and it's bluish-white in that too :S I'm not sure about you, but that looks pretty bluish-white... down there.... AlastorMoody 23:58, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Defenitely bluish-white. See the images. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 01:10, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Use by Death Eaters

Is this also the spell that is used by the Death Eaters a bit earlier? The spells they shoot at the enchantments? But because they are not nearly as powerful as Voldemort, even with their powers combined, it does not do any damage?

And on a side note, what was Voldemort trying to achieve by making his Death Eaters do that? It didn't really do anything to the enchantments.... AlastorMoody 02:36, November 21, 2011 (UTC)

Dumbledore's use in Half-Blood Prince

Is it possible Dumbledore used this spell in Half-Blood Prince after he and Harry return from the cave? "... Dumbledore muttering in some strange language again. He thought he understood why as he felt his broom shudder when they flew over the boundary wall into the grounds: Dumbledore was undoing the enchantments he himself had set around the castle so they could enter at speed." Possible rename

Considering that JKR usually employs alliteration in naming spells, would it be viable to rename this to something like "shield shattering spell"? I believe that shattering is a more accurate description of what happens to it when the spell hits it. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 16:03, December 20, 2011 (UTC)
