Blood status

Can we be sure that Mrs Finnigan isn't Muggle-born? The page claims that she was either half-blood or pure-blood, but no source or reason is given. -- Saxon 14:29, December 23, 2014 (UTC)

Seamus says he's half-blood, which is further backed up in Harry Potter and Me; his dad's a Muggle, and his mam's a witch. If she was Muggle-born, then the Muggle + Muggle-born parentage would equal Seamus being Muggle-born also. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 14:42, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
Was it said that the child of a Muggle and a Muggle-born is Muggle-born? -- Saxon 14:45, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
Technically yes, as "a Muggle-born is as 'bad' as a Muggle", and besides if Muggle-born + Pure-blood = Half-blood, then it makes sense that Muggle + Muggle-born = Muggle-born. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 15:34, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
"Therefore Harry would be considered only 'half' wizard, because of his mother's grandparents." I think I'd agree with you, then, that Mrs Finnigan was at least half-blood. -- Saxon 15:57, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
