  • It could be that since Ron was related to Charlie and got his old wand, it worked better for him than it would anyone else who didn't win it, but didn't since he didn't own it himself, when Lockhart grabbed it from Ron he didn't win the wand, just as Voldemort did not win the wand because he never took it from Malfoy.LordSlytherin 05:15, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Length and wood[]

Just wondered, is there a source for the length and wood? I couldn't find one. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 16:12, May 25, 2013 (UTC)

I found the reference to it being ash on the archive of Rowling's official site. Still trying to find a source for that length, though. ProfessorTofty (talk) 16:21, May 25, 2013 (UTC)

To date, there has never been mention of the wand's length. I have an issue with citing Ron's Pottermore fact profile as a source. When the new Pottermore took effect, it appears that many of the characters' uncited wand information was taken from this wiki: saying Lucius's wand was 18", that Neville's was 13", Hermione's was 10 3/4" - all are speculative and unsourced by JKR, and in most cases, the length is taken from the prop replicas sold by The Noble Collection (which we certainly cannot consider cannon in lieu of simply stating "unknown length").
Same goes for Ron's wand being 12". That was a previously unsourced fact on his character page on this wiki that the Pottermore team seems to have borrowed. This means that an uncited source lead to their inclusion, so by citing it back to them, it creates a cycle of false information. Nightstar5877 (talk) 13:14, May 9, 2017 (UTC)

Article title change[]

Since Charlie Weasley owned this wand first, shouldn't the original title still be in place? --RedWizard98 (talk) 11:49, May 13, 2020 (UTC)

I agree, from an encyclopedic standpoint I believe it makes more sense to have it be titles Charlie Weasley's wand. CosmicChronos (Owl Messaging Service) 12:53, May 13, 2020 (UTC)
Very true. The title change of this article needs to be reverted and restored. --RedWizard98 (talk) 17:05, May 13, 2020 (UTC)
