I wonder if the spell name indicates JKR doesn't like orchids. Orchid + Hideous! Mafalda Hopkirk 16:50, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I thought the same thing too! Merlin. 04:09, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

Jinx

According to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (video game), this is a jinx; however, should that be considered canon? --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 16:35, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Especially when one considers, the book only shows it producing flowers (the main point of this particular response was to replace the tedium of repeatedly writing "bumping"). --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 01:39, April 15, 2013 (UTC)

Does the spell work in any way specifically in the video game that the effects could reasonably be considered like those that would normally be ascribed to a jinx? ProfessorTofty (talk) 01:18, April 17, 2013 (UTC)
The gameplay in which the spell is used is very fast, but the video game calls it the "Orchideus Jinx", and it appears to transform the target into some sort of flowering shrub, or at least produce flowers out of it like with Herbifors. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 01:22, April 17, 2013 (UTC)
So should the article be changed to reflect the video-game canon? --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 00:17, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Never mind, I misread it. There was a spelling difference that makes me believe the two are different spells. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 15:04, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
Page Orchideus Jinx has been created instead. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 18:20, July 5, 2013 (UTC)
