Where does it say that it answers to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:31, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

I think I remember this department being mentioned in relation to the Giant attacks at the beginning of HBP, but I think whoever made the connection was reading too much into the info presented. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:37, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, well I ask cuz Seth is working on a rewrite of the MoM page, and he put it under Level 3 (Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes), I wasn't sure if it should go there, or Magical Creatures, or with the Committee of Charms I asked about on another article and put it in some sort of "unknown" section......
Magical Accidents is a more likely division for it to be a part of. Seth wouldn't purposely put something somewhere if he didn't have some proof. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:42, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
The description of the Office of Misinformation presented in Fantastic Beasts makes it seem it is a division of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes: "The Office of Misinformation will become involved in only the very worst magical-Muggle collisions. Some magical catastrophes or accidents are simply too glaringly obvious to be explained away by Muggles without the help of an outside authority." Despite the example presented in the book (the Loch Ness Monster affair), by its description I wouldn't deem it exclusively under the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures]] (see the emphasis I added on the quote). --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:13, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
I concur. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 20:14, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
