You see, although the books were set during the 90's, the movies are just set whenever, time and fashion is completely irrelevent to the films.Helgen (talk) 14:26, October 30, 2013 (UTC)
The timeline of the films is rather confusing, since they use both the canon timeline (for dates taken directly from the books) and modern dates (for props created wholesale). I think it's important to note instances where the films use aspects of more modern culture, as the films do use the 1990s timeline on occasion. -- 1337star(Drop me a line!) 21:25, October 28, 2013 (UTC)
I don't really know about canonogical timeline, ok whatever, I judge when it's set by watching and seeing things- (clothing, music, artcetecture, etc) The first 2 films looked 90s, Especially the scenes with dursleys, The suits, and wardrobe, and decor, but after say- Goblet of fire, it all looked really modern, especially the bits set in london, Cars made after 2000 in england have a registration plate wrote in a peticular way, for example 7504 l1O was made in 2004 because the first word contains '04', neally all the cars in the series have that, making them more modern, I mean it hardly makes any real difference does it, dumbledore still dies, harry and the order still win, I was just saying that the canon timeline does'nt really apply to the films, making this song more appropriate.
