Split?

Personally, I think that having separate articles for each individual soundtrack would be better than one list. We have separate articles for the films and games, so why not soundtracks. Comments? - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 16:03, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I like the idea of one list because i dont know if people know the individual names of each song, you know? It's easier to find what you're looking for, if you don't know what its called, if there's a list to choose from. Mafalda Hopkirk 18:12, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Mafalda. A single list is better I think for someone trying to find a particular song, rather than have to look up each individual section. Also, not sure how to clean the article up. It's really blocky I think, but not sure how to better put it. Any Ideas?HPguru 02:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Canonicity

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Dumbledore says "Music, a magic beyond all we do here", implying that they do not teach Music at the school, at least during the 1991–1992 school year. -- SaXon 17:30, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

You´re right.--Rodolphus 17:31, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

Should I make the necessary alterations? -- SaXon 15:43, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure. Dumbledore could be referring to the "magic" of music, as in its emotivity and expressivity, and not as in musical studies (i.e. analysing musical pieces, playing, etc.) --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 17:25, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
I don't think so. It seems far more literal. -- SaXon 17:31, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
Well if he was being literal, it would seem that there's a ban of music-related activities at Hogwarts (which the "Hogwarts song" scene in Philosopher's Stone denies). Dumbledore clearly is figuratively referring to music (as music is, rather blandly, the organisation of musical sounds and silences in time; and not a form of magic), and not to musical studies. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 22:27, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
