I see this creature near the campment but how do we know that it's a mooncalf? --   Famini    talk    contribs   23:03, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Not only does it perfectly match the description from Fantastic Beasts, but interacting with three of them (I think you have to hit them with a spell of some sort, but I'm not sure. My knowledge of this game only comes from walkthroughs.) causes them to get up on their hind legs and dance. If that wasn't enough, doing this gives you the character token for Remus Lupin. -- 1337star (Owl Post) 23:12, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

OK thank you. Yes I have the game and I hit them, but I didn't realize that it was a mooncalf and I was surprised to see this pic. I see some other creatures in other parts of the game, for example I wonder if there's not a knarl in the Lovegood house, there's a creature that resembles a hedgehog, near a crab fire. --   Famini    talk    contribs   23:30, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Film appearance?

Any thoughts on if these black things on the hill might be Mooncalfs in the final trailer? We know Newt had Mooncalf pellets in his suitcase so an appearance seems very possible. --Ironyak1 (talk) 17:34, September 28, 2016 (UTC)

I would say they are definitely Mooncalfs. They have the same kind of a body and there is a full moon in the background which is the only time they leave their burrow --Kates39 (talk) 20:13, September 28, 2016 (UTC)
Mooncalf FB
You mean these guys? Of corse you mean them, they're so obviously Mooncalfs. {{SUBST:User:Logo8th/Sig}} 00:15, September 30, 2016 (UTC)
