Merpeople is the official name for them as per Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (real). I believe Merfolk is used interchangably with Merpeople however to describe the species. - Cavalier One^{(Wizarding Wireless Network)} 14:59, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
