In the Marauder's map it is refered as the Hogwarts Turris Magnus. I think we have to rename this article as Hogwarts Turris Magnus: etimologically it makes sense and it is CLEARLY seen on the map where the tower is located. Furthermore, in the tower Dumbledore's office's turrets can be seen an it is opposite to the Clock Tower Courtyard. It is the main tower in the films and in the map and it is located in a corner of the building. I believe it is enough evidence to prove, isn't it? - I don't know if you've already seen it, but we do already have an article for this tower: Hogwarts Turris Magnus. Here it explains why this tower couldn't be the Grand Staircase Tower. Joeworthy 10:23, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I have seen it, and I've also seen the explanation given, but I think the evidence is incontrovertible. Let me remind you that the GS tower CONTAINS CORRIDORS too (seen in first film - third floor corridor, which, along with first and other floors, are also seen in the fifth and sixth video games). These corridors are circular (just like they are seen in the Marauder's Map). The Grand Staircase can't be the only thing to be inside, as it has square form and the tower has circular form and it has many windows. I'm not sure I've made myself clear. --El Profeta Vespertino 11:42, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
- It's likely those two are the same. However, I oppose to rename this article "Hogwarts Turris Magnus" becasue in a castle, the "turris magnus" was the largest tower. This might not be the case in the films, but in the books, the largest tower is the Astronomy Tower. -- 12:05, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
