I would like to suggest that when a specific year is known that is it directly linked to the year page (1776), instead of using a pipe to the decade page (1770s). The reason for this is that the redirect page will handle pointing to the decade page for now, but if in the future the decade page is very busy and needs to be separated into individual year pages, direct links will already correctly point to the individual years, instead of all having to be updated and unpiped.
In cleaning up and separating the 1970s, 1960s, and 1950s pages, there was a lot of work (and still some to do) needed to depipe all the links, which would be best to avoid in the future by using direct links for specific years. More general events (eg in the 1830s) should link to the decade page and be listed there as well IMHO. --Ironyak1 (talk) 06:18, May 18, 2016 (UTC)
