Why, when Hermione cast this spell in 12 Grimmauld Place, did it not locate any human presence? Harry and Ron were both within the vecinity, so it should have detected them. Also, the same with Xeno's place... why wouldn't the Death Eater's spell also target Xenophilius Lovegood and his fellow Death Eater? 24.49.35.99 22:11, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

It is possible that the spell is supersensory, that is, it only acts where the casters senses cannot, so in teh places Hermione or the DEs could not see, like upstairs. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 23:03, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

Surely this is spelled hominem revelio, not "homenum". t would be Latin for "Reveal the human". homin- is the stem for homo, hominis.

It is spelled correctly, see chapter 9 of DH. Also, please sign your posts. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:38, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

I know how it's spelled in the books, that's why I'm posting here, and not editing the article. I'm saying J.K. spelled it wrong, and the editors didn't catch it because they a) don't know Latin grammar, and b) didn't catch much136.159.47.184 00:30, November 27, 2010 (UTC).

It is called the "human-presence-revealing spell" here (http://www.accio-quote.org/articles/2007/0730-bloomsbury-chat.html), albeit not capitalised. Should we rename the article accordingly, or no? Hunnie Bunn (talk) 01:07, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

Rename

I know it was I who asked to rename it, but this title is not only extremely long, but it presumably was only a place-holder, something to call the spell instead of always saying "that Homenum Revelio spell" or "that Homenum Revelio charm". I think it should be returned to title 'Homenum Revelio'. Hunnie Bunn! 23:56, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
