Salvio Hexia

Just wondered, aren't this and Salvio Hexia the same spell? Just wondered, because the etymology of the latter pretty much means "farewell hexes" and that would be suitable for hex-deflection. It'd also explain how Hermione knew how to cast it (though it's equally probable that she read it in a book), and all in all it just seems to make sense in my mind. Do others agree? --Hunniebunn (talk) 02:50, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

That's most likely true, but I'm wary of a merge without canonical proof that the two are one and the same. On a sidenote - thank you for drawing my attention to this page - can't believe it's been sitting around since 2010 with no category other than "Stubs." I understand, but even with my earlier evidence aside, how many spells are used to deflect hexes, and specifically to deflect hexes? Though I respect your decision, I don't think I'd be quite willing to let it sit with this small of a debate. However, as to your sidenote - no problem. I would have done something about it, but I'm still not sure how many categories there are. And wow - that's two years. --Hunniebunn (talk) 03:32, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
Well, my word certainly isn't the end of it - we'll wait and see if anyone else has an opinion on the matter. And yeah, I was astounded too that this would be here that long without any categories or anything. ProfessorTofty (talk) 03:58, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
I consider your word to be of great importance, though - the only thing is, in this instance we disagree, similarly to how you and 1337star and Seth Cooper disagree on whether Scarpin's Revelaspell is Specialis Revelio. So I take it you remain of the same opinion as originally? --Hunniebunn (talk) 04:12, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
Assuming you mean about the former - yes, I still believe it's possible that Scarpin's Revelaspell and Specialis Revelio are not the same. If you mean about this, I actually agree that the two probably are the same thing, I just don't think we have enough evidence to say for sure. ProfessorTofty (talk) 15:29, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
I'll add a BTS once I've added Elvira to the Slytherin page. --Hunniebunn (talk) 15:32, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
