Article move[]

Should we move the articles to "part 1" and "part 2" with digital numerics instead of roman numerals, as that's how they're being advertised in promotional material. Jayden Matthews 20:54, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, because I made a mistake my page: Casting for various HP movies‎ was deleted so I give my information about the actors here. They are from various movies and didn't say for which movie they filmed. Here they are:

Beryl Phelps, source: http://www.total-talent.com/view.php?uid=255955 Kay Hayes as background actress, source: http://www.total-talent.com/view.php?uid=315899 Phil Smith as Gringotts guard, source: http://www.total-talent.com/view.php?uid=309487 Laurence Estrin in various movies, source: http://www.total-talent.com/view.php?uid=79398 Summer Hennessey, source: http://www.total-talent.com/view.php?uid=224141 Harry granger 19:00, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I found again new actors for DH. Here they are: Sophia Kimitri as school girl, source: http://www.uk.castingcallpro.com/view.php?uid=316690

Rachel Packford as Featured Artist 2009/2010 She was also Featured Artist in Order of the Phoenix and was Supporting Artist in Half-Blood Prince, source for all: http://www.uk.castingcallpro.com/view.php?uid=315371

Daniel Pharaoh as special Death Eater, source: http://www.uk.castingcallpro.com/view.php?uid=316096

In the Death Eater section of this article I found a mistake. The name of the Death Eater really is Tony Kirwood - without the second k, not Kirkwood. No offence! Harry granger 19:51, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

Part?[]

Till which chapter will the part one end at? N77 10:51, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

I've heard it will stop off when Voldemort takes the elder wand from Dumbledore's tomb. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 13:09, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Yes. part one ends at the chapter when Voldemort takes the wand, as Bach wrote. NoCircumciseBaby (talk) 09:58, August 6, 2020 (UTC)

Young James Potter[]

Hi, I found an actor who plays young James Potter. But he can't be the eleven year old pupil. His playing age is 24 years. So I give the information here. It is Lexx James. The source is: http://www.uk.castingcallpro.com/view.php?uid=326281. Harry granger 18:03, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

He's probably going to play Harry's father, not Harry's son, in either flashback scenes or at the very end when Harry uses the Ressurection stone? Not sure, but that seems more likely then Harry's son. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:06, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

I meant he can't be the 11 year old James Potter I. in the Pensieve scene but I can imagine him as the young father in flashbacks. I don't think that he will come when Harry uses the Resurrection stone because it is confirmed that Adrian Rawlins will return in Part 2, at least Part 2, so I think that Adrian Rawlins will play James Potter in the Resurrection stone scene. and Barny?[]

nobody knows who will act as the muggle barny wesley? ~AutumEveriday~ 02:45, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

its been confirmed from the trailers that Harry is not under the guise of Polyjuice Potion as Barny Weasley. He will look like himself. Gryffindor1991 03:53, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

Cast list[]

The cast list needs to be confirmed, specifically with regards to the Hogwarts students. There's really only one scene in which they may have appeared, and it's a very brief scene and I didn't spot many of the "familiar faces" listed here. I'm also concerned that the IMDb is being used as a source for verification - it's user-generated and very prone to errors. Plus people only appearing in Part 2 may have been listed in error (or perhaps listed based upon scenes deleted before release). I'd feel more comfortable if a more official source - official website, for example - were used to confirm which students (and other cast in the case of others who may have only appeared for a moment) actually are in the movie. 23skidoo 16:41, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

  • Part of the work I did when I saw the film the other day is stay until they shown the proper credits for the cast. I'm sure if I do this again I can look for the student's names and the name of the person portraying them. -Adv193 20:49, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

I try to see all the credits of the film yesterday and even if it's a short scene, indeed a lot of them are credited: Goyle, Leanne, the Carrow twins for example, even if I didn't have the time to see all of them in the scene. --   Famini    talk    contribs   09:12, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Moody's entrance[]

I really do think the error concerning Moody's entrance at Harry's house should be removed. Moody walks into the sitting room, goes to the kitchen, and then into the hallway with the stairs. Which would lead him right back to the same door he entered the first time.Yumekage 07:51, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

Unofficial posters[]

Does anyone else think the unofficial posters should be removed? I've noticed new posters have been added to some of the other film articles but I'm not 100% sure which ones of those are official or not so I've left them. -Smonocco 19:14, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Without a doubt. Some are very obviously poor montages from previous posters. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 19:10, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

I found some differences to the book:

In the movie Ron tells Harry about the two already destroyed horcruxes, the book and the ring. He talks to him about it when Harry tries to go and search for the missing horcruxes alone. There is no indication in the movies that, how, whether the ring was destroyed and who did it. So how can they know about it?

Afaik in the book harry gets to know about the destruction of the ring in Snapes memory, just before the showdown with Voldemort in the forest.

In the book, Hermione has the picture of Phineas Nigellus in her bag/purse IOT enable Snapes Patronus to be sent along with Griffindors sword.

In the movie Harry watches the shard of glass and the patronus appears.

Mistakes[]

In the mistakes section, I removed the one saying Mad-Eye enters the living room at Privet Drive two times. I went to see the movie again yesterday, and he does enter two times, however its not a mistake. He enters the living room first and looks through the windows into the back garden. He goes back into the hallway through the door in the kitchen, then reenters the living room after everyone else. Gryffindor1991 17:09, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

The Taboo[]

I think it's not clear whether or not the Trio know about the Taboo in the film. One the one hand Harry stops using Voldemort's name. But on the other hand that could be for the same reasons as in the book. Thoughts anyone? Ztyran 02:01, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Godric's Hollow Scene[]

I didn't see this in the movie, but I can remember Voldemort coming to Godric's Hollow when Nagini attacked Harry and Hermione. Am I wrong or did they leave the part out with Voldemort? --GlennVP - (talk) - (contributions) 22:38, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Length of article[]

I have my reservations as to just how readable this article is. At over 100KB, it is very intimidating to the average reader who just wanted some information (information that would be more relevant to that reader than Wikipedia's entry on the subject i.e. a fan). I suggest cutting out the huge lists and putting them somewhere else (another article), and converting unprofessional dot points of information into prose. Infiltration of the Ministry[]

After Harry as Runcorn leaves Umbridge's office, the eye is shown to be missing in the doorway. There is just a hole/indention in the door as he strolls away.

Regarding Polyjuice Potion and voice changes, it says on p.246 (US Hardcover) that Harry says "Yes, of course," in Runcorn's voice when speaking to Umbridge.

Wormtail's Death[]

Is the behind the scene's note about wotmtail's suicide really neccesary. It seems more like its complaining about the scene being cut, and arguing that it should have been kept in, than actually providing real information. And Mario features videogame animation while Harry Potter is live action, so obviously they can show more graphic things in Mario without it seeming as bad. If the behind the scenes note is kept, then it should just say that Wormtail didn't die, and give the reason the scene was changed.Icecreamdif 01:41, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Mistakes section[]

Recently, a contributor added some statements under the Mistakes section. I have removed these because one was a spoiler, and the other was not neccessarily relevant at all. One was about Harry's scar being a Horcrux, and the ohter stated that the pictures in Malfoy Manor didn't move. The one about the portraits is totally irrelevant, and I didnt even see any portraits when I watched the movie. Maybe this could go in the Behind The Scenes section? And I feel that maybe some people who havent read the books may visit this page just to get some background information on the movie, and I didn't want the page to spoil their surprise. Drummerwiz92 20:33, April 20, 2011 (UTC)

I found a link that says that Jack Read portrays Michael Corner in the final two filmshttp://www.thevillageidiots.co.uk/idiots/

i loved the end of it the 2nd one it was really good =D

When everyone's leaving from Privet Drive, it's showed to be a full moon. Remus Lupin is there. He is showed inside number 4 and there is a shot of his back whilst he is sitting on a broom. He should be a fully transformed werewolf.

That's not a mistake because in the novel the moon is not mentioned. So he was only seen in the film and is therefore not canon.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 16:45, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Factual Error: Budget[]

I'm not a member, or capable of making edits. However, I noticed a factual error in the budget listed for the film. The budget is listed at $250 million, and shared between Part 1. However, if you read the cited article, it makes no mention of the budget of either Deathly Hallows film, except stating it'd be less than Half-Blood Prince's $250 million budget, but more than Sorcerer's Stone's $125 million budget. Warner Brother's has not released the budget for this film. A search for the budget yields other websites who also incorrectly read the article. If you've seen either films, you'd know that it's implausible they could cost a combined $250 million to make. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 107.0.114.37 (talkcontribs).

mudbloods[]

It is fascinating to notice that Voldemort himself was a mudblood. He told Dumbledore, quote: "Half-blood, sir,” said Riddle. “Muggle father, witch mother.”" mud! This is fascinating considering that the followers of voldemort made a fuss about mudbloods yet did not oppose the powerful mudblood... clearly not the "issue" tey were fighting about.

several examples: A witch etched "mudblood" on hermione's arm, in this episode, as if that was the issue, ignoring that her own lord was a mud blood, as preserved in canon, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Chapter 13 (The Very Secret Diary), quote above. If on the other hand mudbloods are valid this would not be the issue.

Similarly, Umbridge accuses a witch of lying, claiming a mudblood cannot be a witch despite voldemort himself being a mudblood. This event obeying the minister of magic, pius, who decreed that all witches and wizards must be screened to determine their Blood status. All ignoring the fact that Voldemort is a mudblood. the pattern reminds me of the following question, in all the fuss about nazis... and tall blonde-haired "master race"... exterminating the non-blondes... what color was Hitler's hair? hmm. from a fan NoCircumciseBaby (talk) 10:08, August 6, 2020 (UTC)

Article name[]

What punctuation should this article name uses? The article uses a colon to separate the main name from "Part 1", but others seem to think a hyphen should be used instead. Does this wiki have its own preferred use of punctuation for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film titles. I can see that this has been disagreed back about before so I think it needs properly addressing. Thank you. RedWizard98 (talk) 20:12, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

We could bring it in line with Wikipedia's usage of a dash. SeichanGrey (talk) 13:27, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
