Is it really necessary to have a separate article for a single staircase. Seems a bit silly to me. This would be better of being part of the Hogwarts Castle article. Jayce Carver

- I think that the Hogwarts Castle article is a little packed. There are two many places and articles condensed into one. So, I think it and other articles like this should remain seperate. --ShirleyA

The article is supposed to contain all areas of the castle. That's the whole point. Having a separate article for a single staircase is just silly, we may as well have separate articles for each door or chandalier or statue. Jayce Carver Talk 08:31, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Behind the scenes[]
It once said in one of the articles that Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley were able to get as far as through the entrance to the girls' dormitories in the first film, after Harry, Ron and Hermione Granger's first encounter with Fluffy.
In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, after Harry, Ron and Hermione escape from Filch and Fluffy the Three Headed Dog, they are discussing the events of the night and all three of them walk up the staircase to the girls' dormitory. This error probably occurred because the film was made before the Order of the Phoenix book was written, and this is when the enchantment is first mentioned.
Question: How do we even know if it was the girls' dormitories?
Answer: Yes it was the girls' dormitories because there are no other staircases that are beyond the Fat Lady's Corridor.
