Same person?

Just wondered, there are two Gordon Pummells who both attend Hogwarts in the 1900s, are both seen only in the video games, one of whom is a prefect and one of whom blocks access to areas of the grounds? I'm sorry, but doesn't that seem a tad coincidental to you? Hunniebunn (talk) 14:54, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, but this Pummell is a Prefect in the Prisoner of Azkaban game, and thus must be in his fifth year or above. The other Pummell is in Half-Blood Prince, by which this Pummell would have graduated. That's the rationale for making them separate pages. However, perhaps we should consider what the intent of the people making the game was. The DS Half-Blood Prince game reuses a lot of names from the Prisoner of Azkaban one, presumably as being meant to be the same characters. I suppose it's not impossible this was the same guy, and he was held back a year. I don't know, I'd like to see what others think about this (and I think there's some articles that are similar to this as well). -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 16:26, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
It isn't unheard of — Marcus Flint had been held back a year just three years prior. Doesn't the Prisoner of Azkaban game show this individual's House? If it did, and if he was a Slytherin (like the other Pummell), I'd be all for a merge. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 17:52, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
If I wasn't stuck at the part where Peeves attacks me, I might have been able to find out for you. So sorry, but I'm not sure. However, your point(s) of indviduals being held back are one of the many reasons why I thought they'd be the same. --  Hunniebunn  owl post! October 6, 2012 (UTC)

I wasn't aware of any prefects being named in the Playstation 2 version of the game. I'm fairly sure that this character's name was never mentioned in-game. -- Saxon 18:52, July 28, 2014 (UTC)

Although I can't check for myself, I know that some NPCs are labeled with names on the Marauder's Map. I think that's where the name comes from. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:55, July 28, 2014 (UTC)
