Has anyone got a good source on the wand used by Ginny Weasley? I have seen a few assumed sources but nothing verifiable. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talkcontribs).

It seems very unlikely to me that she got her wand from Ollivander's, given that Harry's wand cost 7 galleons and the Weasleys did not have nearly as much money in their vault at that time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talkcontribs).

It's possible that allowances are made for such situations. Also, the Weasleys don't much money, but they aren't necessarily poor. We know that obviously they had to get the books second-hand, but they save for some things, and it is possible that they could have saved to get the wand new. Ron started school with a hand-me-down wand, it seems unlikely that Ginny would have had a new wand. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tjb173 (talkcontribs).
