could we guesstimate her age based on the fact she needed to be 17 (at the utmost minimum) to start teaching in 1895? Then she would be born in 1878 or prior? Just wondering? 19:17, December 29, 2011 (UTC) Guest

She would actually have had to be at least 18, since the system is based upon the English system, where school is from the September after their 11th birthday, until the July (almost) 7 years later. As a result, it is likely she would have been 18 when she graduated, and even if she wasn't, she would have had her 18th birthday between leaving and the start of the new academic year in September. Teaching Age

Galatea should possibly be more than 18 because when Tom Riddle went to acquire the post of D.A.D.A, he was refused by Armando Dippet saying that he was too young even thugh he was 18. It could be that at the time when she was hired the other Headmaster must have allowed it. --WoloWizard (talk) 14:47, September 23, 2013 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, he was persuaded by Dumbledore to not take Riddle. Maybe Dumbledore told him he was too young and in fact that was not true.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 14:55, September 23, 2013 (UTC)

Possible COS appearance?

In the Behind the Scenes section it says that there was a woman during the memory scene who could've been Prof. Merrythought. Could somebody please upload a picture of said woman? I don't remember seing any woman in the memory. You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off! (talk) 04:55, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
