If Francis had been transfigured into a lily petal only to transform back afterwards, why would he have disappeared when Lily Potter died? I always believed that Francis had been transfigured FROM a lily petal and, when she died, the magic that she had used to do so disappeared with her. It's just an opinion but, to me, it makes more sense then the one mentioned in this article. Masked Thespian 05:43, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

I thought Slughorn said that Francis had simply vanished on the day Lily died, not that he found him dead in his bowl. Nick O'Demus 06:53, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

I wrote this article from memory about an hour-and-a-half after I got home from the theatre. If I've made an error, please correct it. :) Starstuff (Owl me!) 02:37, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
I'll watch the film this week, if you want add a list of facts for me to check on my talk page. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 03:08, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Death date

Incorrect death date. He was obviously alive when Harry was at Hogwarts. Harry was 16 in 1996, so Slughorn did not die in 1981 165.91.13.42 02:37, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

That's the death date for the fish, not for Slughorn himself. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 02:41, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

Appearances

is the fish ever mentioned in the book

No; it was created solely for the film. However, as it never contradicts anything in the book, it can be considered canon. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 23:19, June 14, 2013 (UTC)
