Just in case...

Ok, I'm gonna be really paranoid here and pre-empt a challenge to the split between this page and the locking spell. The reason I did this was because the locking spell cannot logically cover the floating eyes' existences as well, since nearly headless nck in the clip referenced (in the main article) refers to the eyes as curses in themselves. Likewise, the animation that appears before a door locked with the locking spell was said by him not to be the actual float eyes curses and hence they are separate. Therefore, the floating eyes curse must simply conjure the eyes, with the remaining effects (locked door only unlockeable by dispelling extra magic, four floating eyes animation etc.) must be covered by a separate spell, the locking spell—Green Zubat (owl me!). 22:23, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

There's a spell called the "Locking Spell" (capitalized) on Pottermore. Since there is no way to tell if this is the same spell featured in the Philosopher's Stone video game, I've moved this article to the rather cumbersome descriptive title "Floating eyes curse-dependent locking spell." Feel free to suggest a better title if you can think of one. Starstuff (Owl me!) 04:08, August 27, 2011 (UTC)

New name

I think we need to come up with a better name for the article. The one we have now is more accurate but also very ungainly. How about just "curse-dependent locking spell" or even just locking curse? Suggestions? —Green Zubat (owl me!). 04:03, August 27, 2011 (UTC)

I basically wanted to avoid the suggestion that this spell can be tied to more curses than just the floating eyes curse, since that is only speculation. "Curse-dependent locking spell" would work, though, since "curse-dependent" doesn't specify the number of curses to which the spell can be linked. Starstuff (Owl me!) 04:22, August 27, 2011 (UTC)

OK then, "curse-dependent locking spell" it is—Green Zubat (owl me!). 14:47, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
