date of birth

We don´t know for sure if Caractacus and Mr Borgin were the original founders, don´t we? Their ancestors may have been.--Rodolphus 17:13, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

That's a true. Considering the shop was founded in the 1860's and Burke was running it in the 1920s their can't have been too large of a gap -- around fourty years -- so possibly a father of perhaps even a grandfather could have started it. --Parodist 11:29, September 8, 2009 (UTC)
No, wait, Caractacus and Mr Borgin definately founded the shop. According to Dumbledore in HBP, Caractacus helped found the shop where the necklace that nearly killed Katie Bell was purchased. --Parodist 23:39, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
Is there a quote (I'm replying to a seven year old post but hopefully it will be seen by someone)? I think someone living for 150+ years even in Harry Potter is bizarre. Maybe he had a father with the same name? Maybe Dumbledore was mistake? It would make more sense if a father founded the shop. Caractacus could also be one of the two sons of Belvina and Herbert Burke.
I suggest we remove his birth dates until we get the quote. Xx-connor-xX (talk) 03:13, August 21, 2016 (UTC)

Is Caractacus deceased? It's implied on Herbert Burke's page, yet I didn't find any canon confirmation on him dying shortly after Dumbledore interviewd him, although Morfin Gaunt and Hokey did. User:Simen Johannes Fagerli
