It appears to support the points brought up by our lovely anons from across the pond: "automobile", in the sense of being synonymous with car, is listed as being "chiefly North American". - Are you absolutely sure "automobile" isn't used in the UK? I mean, I always thought "car" was a more causal term and "automobile" was used in a more formal/technical situation. I'm not British, mind, and I might be wholly wrong. -- Seth Cooper owl post! 22:50, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

It appears to support the points brought up by our lovely anons from across the pond: "automobile", in the sense of being synonymous with car, is listed as being "chiefly North American".
