How do we know for certain that he was a muggle and not a muggle-born? When Andromeda maried Ted Tonks they struck her off claiming she had married a muggle, not a muggle-born wizard. Couldn't this also be true in this case? -- 14:08, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

It's possible, but unless we have any contradictory evidence (as we eventually got with Ted Tonks), it should be left as is. But it could be mentioned in the Behind the scenes section or something. Oread 17:14, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

I think that we could now erase that it's possible he is a muggle-born. Now we have the duplicata of the hand-drawn tree by JKR (in the book of Brian Sibley, the real original and not the repro by the Lexicon) and it's written : Muggle for Bob Hitchens and Muggle-born for Ted Tonks so there's no reason anymore to think he could be a muggle-born.--   Famini    talk    contribs   15:16, August 11, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I'm looking at the Harry Potter Film Wizardry right now, and JKR's tree does list Ted as a Muggle-born, and Bob Hitchens as a Muggle. I'm going to change it now. Slytherclaw5450 (talk) 15:59, June 22, 2013 (UTC)Slytherclaw5450
