There's a French Canadian legend about a beautiful woman called Marie-Josephte Corriveau who was widowed 7 times because all of her husbands died in mysterious circumstances. She was then accused of witchcraft and placed alive in a metal cage, being left to starve to death. Is there possible that Blaise's mother is a reference to this legend?
