A quick question to any and all. It's listed that Snape was appointed the Potions master at Hogwarts in 1981, and that Trelawney was appointed to Divination in 1980 (though on the Trelawney page it's listed as 1979), but in OoTP, Snape tells Umbridge he's been working there 14 years and Trelawney says she's been there 16 years. Where did the missing year go?

I can't see any missing year. Me_Potter_Fan (Talk) 01:38, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Missing year

If Trelawney has been working there 16 years and Snape 14, then she's been working there 2 more years than he has, which wouldn't be the case if she started in 1980 and he in 1981. Not to mention the inconsistency between the Trelawney page (which says: "She has held the post since 1979") and the year pages (which list her being hired in 1980, not 1979).

I corected the mistakes on 1979 and 1980. Me_Potter_Fan (Talk) 02:12, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Cool. Thanks. I hoped I approached this correction the correct way...

Yep, you did it perfectly. -- Freakatone Talk 02:23, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Igor Karkaroff and Ludo Bagman trials

How come Karkaroff and Bagman's trials aren't on the list? It appears that Karkaroff's trial or his capture at least is on the list of events that occured in 1980. But Lily and James Potter weren't murdered by Lord Voldemort until 1981. Did Karkaroff's trial take place before Voldemort's downfall? Because I always thought it happened after.

Bartemius Crouch Jr. and the Lestrange's trial definitely took place after Voldemort's downfall, but it doesn't state if Bagman's trial happened before or after. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:12, October 8, 2014 (UTC)

Based upon further research, Karkaroff was captured and sent to Azkaban before Harry Potter's parents were murdered, but he was released afterwards. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:18, October 8, 2014 (UTC)
