The Stone Circle is, as its name suggests, a circle of giant stones that is in the grounds of Hogwarts Castle, just outside of the Covered Bridge. It seems as though the circle may be a sun dial. This cromlech stands on top of a hill that allowed a person to see Rubeus Hagrid's hut on a higher place.
Behind the scenes
- The Stone Circle was presumably built in the summer of 1993, along with the Covered Bridge, Clock Tower and Clock Tower Courtyard, as they first appeared in the film adaption of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
- Stone Circle is one of the two places (the other being Covered Bridge) that filmakers created to connect Hagrid's Hut to the castle.
- Inspiration for Stone Circle may have come from Stonehenge in the English County Wiltshire.
- In the Film Adaption of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix the stones disapear and the Covered Bridge exit just goes on to grass but in the videogame adaption the stones return.
