"Is this all real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
The topic of this article is of a real-life subject that has been mentioned "in-universe" in a canon source. The Harry Potter Wiki is written from the perspective that all information presented in canon is true (e.g., Hogwarts really existed), and, as such, details contained in this article may differ from real world facts. |
Professor Stephen William Hawking (b. 8 January, 1942) was a Muggle theoretical physicist, internationally considered the best since Albert Einstein. He suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease for at least twenty years, and was confined to a wheelchair because of it. One of his works, A Brief History of Time, was also read by some wizards who had an interest to know the Muggle views on Physics.[1]
Etymology
The name "Stephen" comes from the Greek name Στεφανος (Stephanos) meaning "crown".
