Stanislav Ianevski (Bulgarian: Станислав Яневски; born 16 May, 1985) portrayed the Bulgarian Seeker and Triwizard champion Viktor Krum in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He reprised his role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, but only appeared in the background in the wedding scene, and was not mentioned in the credits. A scene was shot with him dancing with Hermione (and Ron showing jealousy), which is expected to be featured on the DVD.[2]
Personal life
Ianevski was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and has lived in England and Israel. While attending Mill Hill School in the United Kingdom, Ianevski had no particular acting aspirations and was not a drama student. He had only auditioned for Potter after being spotted by Fiona Weir, a casting director who prompted him to attend an acting workshop, which resulted in his casting as Viktor Krum. He was selected from 600 others, most of whom had auditioned in Sofia, Bulgaria. Harry Melling, who plays the part of Dudley Dursley, attended Mill Hill School at the same time.
Ianevski's casting was announced in June 2004. During filming, he befriended fellow Potter actors Robert Pattinson and Emma Watson. He also starred in Hostel 2, the sequel to Eli Roth's film Hostel. Ianevski has a sister and several pets. He is a follower of the Bulgarian national football team.
