"Those are Spiky Bushes. You may cast Incendio on them but step back to avoid their needles."
Pomona Sprout on the Spiky Bushes[src]

Spiky Bushes are bushes with spikes growing out of them. They can shoot these spikes at humans, but can be destroyed using the Fire-Making Spell. They are covered in first year Herbology classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. According to Professor Sprout, it is best to try and get rid of them from a distance, seeing as the spikes will retaliate if the plant is attacked, and whoever is close nearby will undoubtedly be hit.
