"There is a way of cleaning away ectoplasm without resorting to a can of Mrs Scower's Magic Mess Remover, and this is with an effective scouring charm such as Skurge."
Miranda Goshawk[src]

The Skurge Charm (Skurge) is a charm that can be used to clean up the sticky green ectoplasm created by passing ghosts.[1] It can also be used to frighten spectres and poltergeists such as Peeves, who lives in Hogwarts Castle.[1]

This is a rather basic spell, being taught by Professor Filius Flitwick to his second year charms class.[1] It is also included in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 2 by Miranda Goshawk, as well as another spellbook that could be found in the Hogwarts Library.[1]
