During the duel between Lord Voldemort and Dumbledore, Voldemort summoned a silver shield which protected him from one of Dumbledore's curses. It is presumably much stronger than the standard Protego Shield, because it protected Voldemort from a curse that was powerful enough to blow through Harry's hair, even when he was standing behind a golden statue of the Fountain of Magical Brethren, as it whizzed passed.
