The Silver Arrow was a broomstick produced by broom-maker Leonard Jewkes, and was the true fore-runner of the racing broom. It was capable of speeds greater than the Oakshaft 79 or the Moontrimmer, but Leonard worked alone and demand outstripped supply. It was eventually replaced by the Cleansweep series.
Madam Hooch, flying instructor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, learned to fly on a Silver Arrow.
