The shark (suborder Selachimorpha) is a type large carnivorous fish characterised by five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head.[1]

For the second task of the Triwizard Tournament in 1995, Viktor Krum partially transfigured himself into a shark to complete it.[2]

The Dukuwaqa, mascot of the Fijian National Quidditch team, is a magical creature capable of shape-shifting between the forms of a shark and a human.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

  • Sharks were briefly mentioned in the W.O.M.B.A.T. test as a question about what would receive the heaviest punishment. Another one of the questions discussed using the Cruciatus Curse on a shark attacking a Muggle.
