- 1991 - The Gryffindor First years have their first Transfiguration Class with Professor McGonagall.
- 1992 - The Gryffindor Quidditch team has a practice at dawn. Ron Weasley attempts to curse Draco Malfoy after he calls Hermione Granger a Mudblood, but his wand backfires and leaves him vomiting slugs. Harry Potter and Ron serve detentions with Gilderoy Lockhart and Argus Filch, respectively. While coming back detention, Harry hears the Basilisk for the first time.
- 1995 - Harry has detention with Dolores Umbridge.
