Self-hypnotism was the practise of placing oneself under hypnosis. It was used in the wizarding world, presumably for some type of therapeutic or transcendental purpose.^[1]

An ad for a product or service related to self-hypnotism was printed in an issue of the Daily Prophet in 1995.^[2]
