"Saturday afternoon seemed to melt away, and in what seemed like no time, it was five minutes to eight, and Harry was dragging his feet along the second-floor corridor to Lockhart's office. He gritted his teeth and knocked."
— Narrative[src]

The second-floor corridor was a passage on the second-floor of Hogwarts Castle, accessible from a staircase connected to the first-floor corridor,[2] a staircase connected to the Herbology corridor,[1][3] a staircase connected to the library corridor[4] and the Hogwarts Turris Magnus staircase.[1][3] Off of the staircase were several rooms,[5] including the office reserved for the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.[6] The corridor was lined with bookcases with a small seating area[7] and at one end of the corridor was a tetraptych of Helena Ravenclaw.[1] There was also at least one suit of armour along the corridor.[8] Halfway along the corridor was a tapestry concealing a narrow staircase leading to the ground-floor.[9]
