Mrs Finnigan (fl. 1980-1997) was a witch and the mother of Seamus Finnigan. According to her son, Mrs Finnigan only told her husband that she was a witch after they were married, which came as a "nasty shock" to him given that he is a Muggle.[4]

1994

In 1994, Mrs Finnigan attended the Quidditch World Cup with Seamus, and was introduced to Harry Potter for the first time. She and her son staunchly and vociferously supported the Irish National Quidditch team, who defeated Bulgaria in the final.[5]
1995

A reader of the Daily Prophet, Mrs Finnigan believed the series of slanders and lies they printed against Harry and Albus Dumbledore in the summer of 1995, and seriously considered not allowing Seamus to go back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the September of the same year as a consequence.[6]

Seamus sent a copy of The Quibbler to his mother in 1996 to sway her into believing Harry over The Daily Prophet.
1997
In 1997, following the death of Albus Dumbledore, Mrs Finnigan tried to take Seamus out of school and bring him home before the Headmaster's funeral. Seamus refused, leading to a blazing argument. Mrs Finnigan eventually compromised, allowing him to attend the funeral on the condition that they go home right after.[7]

Mrs Finnigan was said to be able to shiftily manipulate others into giving out information.[8] She was likeable, but prone to believing The Daily Prophet.
