Screechsnap is a magical plant with the ability to move and make noise. It is also described as a "semi-sentient" plant for having the ability feel both pain and pleasure. During a fifth-year Herbology lesson in 1996, Susan Bones distractedly put an excessive amount of dragon manure on her tray of Screechsnap seedlings, which made them squirm and squeak in irritation.
