Scarpin's Revelaspell (Specialis Revelio) is a charm that is used to reveal charms and hexes that have been cast onto a target[1]. It can also, however, be used to reveal the ingredients of a potion.
Known uses
- Hermione Granger used this spell on the Half-Blood Prince's copy of Advanced Potion-Making.
- It was also used during a sixth year Potions class, to reveal the ingredients of a poison.
Etymology
Latin specialis, "particular; individual" and revelare (present tense revelo), "unveil". Altogether the incantation may read as "[to] reveal the particulars [of]".
