Salmon is a type of fish found around most of the world. In 1997, Ted Tonks caught some salmon with a Summoning Charm while he, Dirk Cresswell, Dean Thomas, Griphook, and Gornuk were on the run from Snatchers.

Ghosts can almost taste rotten food, as such, stinking salmon was a dish served at Deathday Parties.^[1]
