Salem was a city located in Essex County in the state of Massachusetts in the United States of America.[1]
From 1692 to 1693, a number of No-Maj witch trials were carried out in the then-colonial settlement of Salem, ultimately resulting in the executions of several innocent people (both magical and non-magical).[2][3] The Salem witch trials were a major traumatic event in the history the wizarding world.[2]
Salem may have also been the location of the Salem Witches' Institute.[4]
