Salame was a type of cured sausage made from fermented or air-dried meat (typically beef or pork).[1] Luchino Caffe, an all-night Italian café on Tottenham Court Road in London, served a roll filled with mortadella/salame salad for £2.40.[2]

Behind the scenes

  • The correct spelling of the word of this type of sausage in English is "salami." However, it is spelled "salame" on the prop menu featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, perhaps because, in Italian, "salame" is the singular form of the word for this type of sausage, and the menu lists several other items in Italian.[2][3]
