Salamander fire is a term used to describe a fire that has given birth to a salamander. Once a fire has produced a salamander, it will continue to make new salamanders until the fire is extinguished. Therefore, when dealing with hostile salamanders, it is wise to extinguish the salamander fire rather than focusing on the salamanders it has produced.[1]

Left to its own devices, a salamander can live for up to six hours outside of its fire if fed pepper regularly. A salamander will die instantly once its salamander fire has been extinguished, however.[2]
