Added by Seth CooperA ruby is a red gemstone, often associated with royalty. The charlatan in Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump requested several rubies as pay, claiming they were for the casting of curative charms. The Sword of Gryffindor was known to be adorned with egg shaped rubies. Rubies also filled the Gryffindor House points hourglass at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In the summer of 1991, when Harry Potter visited Gringotts Wizarding Bank for the first time, he observed a goblin weighing a pile of rubies as big as glowing coals.[1]
In June 1997, during the Death Eater assault on Hogwarts, the Gryffindor House points hourglass was shattered and rubies fell onto the floor below.[2]
Behind the scenes
Edit
- It is unknown if rubies could actually help in the casting of curative charms, or if the Charlatan was lying.
