Rose Zeller was a wizard who began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1995 and was sorted into Hufflepuff house. She was the last to be sorted among her year due to her surname starting with 'z' and the use of alphabetical order. Rose Zeller was a witch who began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1995 and was sorted into Hufflepuff house. She was the last to be sorted among her year due to her surname starting with 'z' and the use of alphabetical order. Her name is shared with the future daughter of Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley, Rose Weasley, though this is presumably coincidental.

Etymology

The name "Rose" was originally a Norman form of a Germanic name, which was composed of the elements hrod "fame" and heid "kind, sort, type". It was introduced to England by the Normans in the forms Roese or Rohese. From an early date it was associated with the word for the fragrant flower rose (derived from Latin rosa). When the name was revived in the 19th century, it was probably with the flower in mind.

 1. The french wikipedia names another cast named Jena Wilhelmson, playing Rose Zeller, in this film adaption. But it is unclear if this is a real cast.
