River Mersey is a major river in England that runs through the port of Liverpool in the west coast of England.
On 1 September, 1992, when Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley flew a Ford Anglia to Hogwarts Castle (a breach of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy), they accidently caused Felicitania Tugwood to fall from her broomstick straight into the River Mersey. She got a "shocking" case of flu.[1]
In early 1999, three ticket-holders for a Celestina Warbeck concert in Liverpool smashed over the River Mersey.[2]
